Adopt with NWAS

Welcome to the North Wales Adoption Service, known as NWAS.

Our priority is to help children find a safe and stable home with a family to love and care for them.

Who can adopt?

Adopting a child is a life-changing decision packed full of rewarding moments, but it’s not without its challenges. We’re here to help and support you through each step of this exciting journey.

We welcome applications from everyone regardless of relationship status, sexuality, beliefs or ethnicity. We’ll work with you to build your capacity, resilience, skills and qualities to become a parent through adoption.

We’re looking for people who are:

Mature and thoughtful

Happy to make space ready for a child in their life and home

Flexible in their approach to life

Determined to make a real difference to a child’s life, for a lifetime

Ready for a challenge

Well supported by family and friends

Open to opportunities for reflection and professional training and support

Undaunted by children with challenging behaviours

If you’re interested in adoption, need additional support, or just want to ask us some questions, we’d love to hear from you.

You can also speak to an adoption worker for an informal chat, and we can then send you an information pack.
